I have had a pretty interesting life so far. Here is a really short version of it :)

School: Growing up all over the world.

1979 to 1997

My parents are Indian diplomats and growing up with them, I ended up going to school in the most geographically disconnected places. From Haycock Elementary School, in Falls Church Virginia, Washington, USA, to the Army Public School, New Delhi, India to the British International School in Cairo, Egypt and finally graduating from Bellaire High School, Houston Texas, I came back to India to go to college. My parents wisely told me that if I had not done that, I would never have had any friends in the country that I came from. They were so right!

College: Gigs as a Dj, Voice Overs, Sound Designing for Theatre and Teaching at University.

1997 to 2006

I graduated in the year 2000 with a B.A. (Hons.) degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.

Then I went on to get a masters degree in 2002 in Mass Communications from the A.J.K. Mass Communication Research Centre (M.C.R.C.) at Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi,

After studying communication, i realised i loved sound the most and moved to Bombay for a diploma in Audio Engineering in 2006 from the School of Audio Engineering (SAE), Mumbai.

I spent time in college in Delhi as a DJ at neighbourhood pub called the Mezz, playing rock, old school hip hop and psy trance three nights a week.

I also worked during college as a sound designer, creating sound effects, arranging background music scores and engineering live performances for professional theater productions.

The bigger productions I have worked on have been performed the world over at international theatre festivals and private shows at the ICA in London, the Iberoamericano Festival in Colombia, private shows in Mexico and at the Esplanade in Singapore. We also performed at the Rafi Peer Theatre Festival in Lahore, Pakistan, the Prague Quadrennial, the Hangmadan Festival in Seoul, South Korea, and at the Bonn Biennale in Germany.

I found a fun side career as a voice over artist in 2000 and have been recording professional voice overs for TV Ads, E- learning modules, explainer videos, corporate videos and documentaries.

For a year I taught a course titled “The Aesthetics of Sound Design” to undergraduate and postgraduate students at Rai University, New Delhi in 2004.

Sound Design for Feature Films and the Video Production Business

Mumbai, India

2005 to 2013

Soon after I moved to Mumbai, I set up my first two companies in 2009, Sound Design Solutions and Kabir Singh Productions.

I spent 8 years producing varied communication content in the form of videos, voice overs and sound which included producing a national award winning short film and sound design for feature films for award winning directors like Prakash Jha and Sudhir Mishra.

The Agency and Consulting Business

New Delhi, India

2013 - Present Day

After spending almost a decade in Bombay, it was time for a change, and I moved back to Delhi, and founded the KS Collective. The agency offered branding, strategic story telling, graphic design, websites, digital marketing, content writing and events.

While working with my agency clients i also spun off Kabir Singh Consulting, where i would come on board as a management consultant to help brands strategise their communication and marketing and help startup businesses with their business model and get their branding ‘house in order.’

Goa Holiday Homes Rentals

Goa, India

2017 - Present Day

In 2017, I moved to Goa with my beautiful German wife Isabelle, and set up Kabella Residencies. We have two apartments in Vagator, North Goa for rental on Air Bnb as holiday homes for people who visit goa on vacation. Come stay with us! :)

I live a multi city life shuttling between Goa, New Delhi and Mumbai for work. When i am not working, I love going to music festivals, and playing Aerobie on the beach.
